Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Central South Dakota Airborne Lidar Validation - Field Survey Data

U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) scientists conducted field data collection efforts during the time periods of April 25 - 26, 2017, October 24 - 28, 2017, and July 25 - 26, 2018, using a combination of surveying technologies to map and validate topography, structures, and other features at five sites in central South Dakota. The five sites included the Chamberlain Explorers Athletic Complex and the C

Characterization of water residence time, nutrients, phytoplankton and related water quality constituents in the Cache Slough Complex of the California Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta in 2017 and 2018

Data was collected in the Cache Slough Complex located in the northern San Francisco Estuary to characterize water quality parameters at high spatial resolution. Data collection was conducted on three separate occasions: October 2017, May 2018, and October 2018. Data set includes nitrate, ammonium, ortho-phosphate, dissolved organic carbon, temperature, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, c

Sulfur isotope analyses of mineral deposits: sulfide minerals in epithermal veins of the Lowland mining district, Montana, USA and anhydrite associated with the Black Angel zinc-lead-silver deposit, Greenland

These data are sulfur isotope determinations (34S/32S ratios) for sulfur-bearing minerals collected from epithermal veins in the Lowland mining district, Montana, USA and from metasedimentary rocks that host the Black Angel zinc-lead-silver deposit, Greenland. The samples were collected by cooperators as parts of larger ore genesis studies. The determinations were performed between February 2019 a

Sediment grain-size data from the Klamath estuary, California

This data release includes grain-size measurements of sediment samples collected from the substrate surface and uppermost 10 cm of sediment deposits in the Klamath estuary, northern California. Samples were collected using a BMH-60 bed-material sampler deployed from a boat, or by hand trowel from subaerial or shallow-water (less than 0.5 m water depth) regions along the estuary margins and side ch

Data sets for: Sampling for Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) by the Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment Priority Basin Project (GAMA-PBP)

The U.S. Geological Survey Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment-Priority Basin Project (USGS GAMA-PBP) collected samples to be analyzed for per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from domestic and public supply wells from May 2019 to September 2020. The datasets presented here include identification of the 28 PFAS constituents monitored by the project, Identification and brief characte

Phytoplankton data for Milford Lake and the Republican River, Kansas, May 2016 through June 2020

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Data Release provides phytoplankton data collected from Milford Lake and the Republican River, Kansas, during May 2016 through June 2020. All data are reported as raw calculated values and are not rounded to USGS significant figures. This data release was produced in compliance with the federal open-data requirements as a way to make scientific products associate

Clayton Valley Geophysical Data Release

This data release contains data from various geophysical studies performed around the larger Clayton Valley, NV area. These include reprocessed existing gravity data compiled from multiple sources, as well as newly collected gravity and ground magnetic data, and bulk densities and magnetic susceptibilities from outcrop, hand samples, and drill cores.

Geologic map database to accompany geologic map of the State of Hawaii

This digital publication contains all the geologic map information used to publish U.S. Geological Survey Geologic Investigations Map Series SIM-3143 (Sherrod and others, 2020). This geologic map shows the distribution and stratigraphic relation of volcanic, intrusive, and sedimentary units emplaced in the past 8 million years across the eight principal islands of the Hawaiian archipelago, State o

Klamath Marsh January Through May Maximum Surface Water Extent, 1985-2021 (ver. 2.0, March 2022)

The U.S. Geological Survey Oregon Water Science Center, in cooperation with The Klamath Tribes initiated a project to understand changes in the surface-water extent of Klamath Marsh, Oregon and changes in groundwater levels within and surrounding the marsh. The initial phase of the study focused on developing datasets needed for future interpretive phases of the investigation. This data release do

Rapid Response Landslide Inventory for the 14 August 2021 M7.2 Nippes, Haiti, Earthquake

We present a preliminary point inventory of the landslides associated with the M7.2 Nippes, Haiti, earthquake that occurred on August 14, 2021. The mapping was part of rapid response efforts to identify hazards for situational awareness and emergency response by humanitarian aid organizations. This inventory accompanies an Open-File Report detailing the hazards presented by the landslides triggere

Data Release for the 2021 Update of the U.S. National Seismic Hazard Model for Hawaii

The 2021 update of the U.S. National Seismic Hazard Model for Hawaii succeeds the twenty-year-old former model by incorporating new data and modeling techniques to improve the ground shaking forecasts. Output from the model includes probabilistic seismic hazard curves calculated for a 0.02° x 0.02° grid of latitude/longitude locations across Hawaii. The new model provides an expanded suite of ha

Data release for mean annual runoff and annual runoff variability map for Oklahoma, 1940-2007

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Oklahoma Water Resources Board, produced this data release that includes vector and raster geographic information systems layers used in the analysis and publication of a mean annual runoff and annual runoff variability map for 1940-2007 for Oklahoma. The data release covers all 69 8-digit hydrologic units with at least 1 square mile of ar
