Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Data for Gulf Sturgeon Bayesian Network Model

This USGS Data Release represents tabular and geospatial data for the Gulf Sturgeon Bayesian Network Model. The Gulf Sturgeon is a federally listed, anadromous species, inhabiting Gulf Coast rivers, estuaries, and coastal waters from Louisiana to Florida. The data release was produced in compliance with the new 'open data' requirements as way to make the scientific products associated with USGS re

December 2018 National Wetlands Inventory Mississippi Barrier Islands habitat classification: (Cat Island, Ship Island, Petit Bois Island and Horn Island)

The Mississippi Coastal Improvements Program (MsCIP) has developed a Comprehensive Barrier Island Restoration Plan containing options to ensure the integrity of the Mississippi barrier islands through restoration efforts. Any restoration activities implemented must have minimal adverse impacts to critical habitat for various marine, terrestrial and avian resources. Documenting the success of resto

Hakalau Forest National Wildlife Refuge Vegetation Map 2016

This data layer identifies the boundaries of the mapped plant communities for the vegetation map of the Hakalau Forest National Wildlife Refuge Hakalau Forest Unit and adjacent lands, island of Hawaii.

Database of Geomorphic Features, Klamath River, California 2010

The USGS, in cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, compiled a map of geomorphic features along a 140-km segment of the main stem Klamath River below Iron Gate Dam, CA. Flood disturbance within the study reach is produced by the combined effect of natural flows and reservoir releases. The physical response of the Klamath River to flood di

Snake River Plain Play Fairway Analysis Phase 2 Favorability Model (DE EE0006733)

This data release contains all digital geographic data used and produced by the Snake River Plain Play Fairway Analysis (DE EE0006733) for Phase 2 (ArcGIS shapefiles and raster files) as well as the model processing script, tables, and documentation used to generate data outputs. Phase 2 examines two subset areas of the Phase 1 study area, Mountain Home and Camas Prairie. Brief descriptions of dat

Snake River Plain Play Fairway Analysis Phase 1 Favorability Model (DE EE0006733)

This data release contains all digital geographic data used and produced by the Snake River Plain Play Fairway Analysis (DE EE0006733) for Phase 1 (ArcGIS shapefiles and raster files) as well as the model processing script, tables, and documentation used to generate data outputs. Brief descriptions of data layers are in the metadata of GIS files, greater detail is available in the Larger Work, the

Cottonwood Lake Study Area - Invertebrate Counts - 1992 to 2019

This dataset contains macroinvertebrate sampling data for the wetlands in the Cottonwood Lake Study Area, Stutsman County, North Dakota.

Cottonwood Lake Study Area - Breeding Birds - 1992 to 2019

This dataset contains the number of breeding pairs of bird species surveyed in all Cottonwood Lake Study Area wetlands.

Cottonwood Lake Study Area - Amphibians - 1992 to 2019

This dataset contains the number of captured individuals recorded for each amphibian species surveyed in all wetlands in the Cottonwood Lake Study Area, Stutsman County, North Dakota. While amphibians were the target of the surveys, reptiles (i.e., turtles, snakes) were also sometimes captured over the course of the surveys and are included in the data file.

Cottonwood Lake Study Area - Invertebrate Weights - 1992-2019

This dataset contains macroinvertebrate sampling data (weights) for wetlands in the Cottonwood Lake Study Area, Stutsman County, North Dakota.

Cottonwood Lake Study Area - Specific Conductance - 1992-2020

This dataset contains the specific conductance values of water for all wetlands in the Cottonwood Lake Study Area, Stutsman County, North Dakota.

A spatially and temporally intensive sampling study of benthic community and bivalve metrics in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, 2007-18

Phytoplankton is an important and limiting food source in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and San Francisco Bay; the decline of phytoplankton biomass is one possible factor in the pelagic organism decline and specifically in the decline of the protected delta smelt. The bivalves Corbicula fluminea and Potamocorbula amurensis (hereafter Corbicula and Potamocorbula, respectively) have been shown to
