The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Pre-restoration biological and physical assessment of the lower Rouge River, MI, 2018

Data are from biological and physical environmental assessments conducted during 2018 in the lower Rouge River, MI. Sites were located upstream, downstream, and within the concrete channel section of the lower Rouge River. Water quality parameters, riparian zone characteristics, reptiles and amphibians, fishes, invertebrates, and river channel characteristics (water depth, flow, velocity) were ass

Larval Fish Abundance, Identification, and Auxiliary Data from the Great Lakes and Their Connecting Channels

This dataset contains data collected on various vessel operations on the Great Lakes and their connecting channels, primarily the St. Clair River, Lake St. Clair, Detroit River, and western Lake Erie, although other locations have been sampled and included in this dataset. This dataset contains the field variables, environmental conditions, larval catches (numbers), larval fish identifications, an

Principal facts of regional gravity data in the central Upper Peninsula, Michigan, and northeastern Wisconsin

Gravity data were collected from 2016 through 2019 to assist in mapping surface and subsurface geology in the central Upper Peninsula of Michigan and in neighboring northeastern Wisconsin. This data release provides principal facts for 1536 new gravity stations that were acquired to supplement existing public gravity data coverage.

Select borehole data for Edwards Airforce Base and vicinity, Antelope Valley, CA

Edwards Air Force Base (EAFB) is located in Kern County, CA, approximately 35 kilometers (km) northeast of Lancaster and 9 km south of California City. The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) is situated on EAFB, approximately 7 km southwest of Boron, CA. Release of contaminants from the AFRL facilities have contaminated local groundwater, which is mostly restricted to fractured granitic bedrock,

USGS National and Global Assessment Project-Sacramento Basin, Conventional and Continuous Assessment Unit Boundaries and Assessment Input Forms

This data release contains the boundaries of assessment units and input data for the assessment of undiscovered gas resources of the Sacramento Basin province in California. The Assessment Unit is the fundamental unit used in the National Assessment Project for the assessment of undiscovered oil and gas resources. The Assessment Unit is defined within the context of the higher-level Total Petroleu

Mean High Water Shorelines for the Outer Cape of Massachusetts from Nauset Inlet to Race Point (1998-2005)

This data release contains mean high water (MHW) shorelines for the Outer Cape of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, from Nauset Inlet to Race Point. From 1998-2005, the U.S. Geological Survey surveyed 45 kilometers of coastline 111 times using a ground-based system called Surveying Wide-Area Shorelines (SWASH). The SWASH system used a six-wheeled amphibious all-terrain vehicle as a platform for an array of

Water-quality data at two unnamed lakes at the National Crude Oil Spill Fate and Natural Attenuation Research Site near Bemidji, Minnesota, 2019

The National Crude Oil Spill Fate and Natural Attenuation Research Site is located near where about 1.7 million liters of crude oil spilled in 1979. Much of the oil spill leached into groundwater which flows towards an unnamed lake at the site. The U.S. Geological Survey Branch of Hydrogeophysics has been working to map the plume's extent on land and into the lake using a variety of geophysical

Genetic Data from Three Accipiter Species, North America, 1996-2014

This data set provides sample collection information and genetic data used to identify relationships between groups of North American accipiters, including one hybrid. Genetic data includes gender identification, nuclear and mtDNA sequence markers, and microsatellite genotypes derived from 20 autosomal loci (Age1302, Age1303, Age1304, Age1305, Age1306, Age1307, Age1308, Age1309, Age1310, Age1311,

Shrew (Sorex sp.) Gut Contents Identified by DNA Metabarcoding, North America, 1968-2016

This data package contains four tables related to helminths and bacteria identified in the guts of North American shrews (Genus: Sorex). Tables include: two tables of specimen information about each shrew, such as species, museum collection identification, and NCBI accession IDs; one table of NBCI GenBank accession numbers of previously identified DNA sequences used in this study to design the hel

Turbidity data collected by five in situ sensors at USGS site 02492620 Pearl River at NSTL station, MS from November 2017 to January 2018

Five commercially available turbidity sensors were field tested by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility for accuracy and data comparability. The tested sensors were the Xylem EXO (EXO), the Hach Solitax sc (Solitax), the In-Situ Aqua TROLL sensor installed onto a TROLL 600 sonde (TROLL 600), the Campbell Scientific OBS501 (OBS501), and the Observator ANALITE NEP-50

Data associated with the evaluation of the PAT (Purge Analyzer Tool), Stringfellow Superfund site, Jurupa Valley, California, 2017

Data presented here were collected in support of analyzing the analytical model PAT (Purge Analyzer Tool). There are manual measurements of well construction, hydraulic, and chemical data for several wells from the Stringfellow Superfund site, Jurupa Valley, California. The hydraulic data includes hydraulic head. Chemical data includes physiocochemical data. Physiocochemical profiles of the well w
