Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Lidar point cloud, raster, mapping, analysis, and photographic data for streambank erosion and related geomorphic change in Tuolumne Meadows, Yosemite National Park, California, USA

These data are derived from four lidar surveys: one airborne survey in 2006 and three terrestrial surveys in 2016, 2017, and 2018. These surveys were used to generate better quantitative understanding of changes associated with fluvial system process along the reach of the Tuolumne River as it traverses Tuolumne Meadows. This research was performed to provide science for decision support as the Na

Data for the assessment of the containment pond at Canyon Mine, Arizona, 2019

These data are comprised of measurements of elements (e.g., uranium, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, cadmium, lead, etc.), major anions (chloride, nitrite+nitrate as nitrogen, sulfate, etc.), dissolved organic carbon, and general water quality characteristics in Canyon Mine containment pond water, sediment, vegetaiton and invertebrate samples collected in calendar year 2019.

Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Water-Quality and Sonar Measurements in Delaware River near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 2019

These data sets were created in support of the U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) Next Generation Water Observing System (NGWOS) for the Delaware River Basin pilot study (Eberts, Wagner, and Woodside, 2019). The NGWOS utilizes real-time data, improved computational capabilities, and new technologies such as the rapid deployment of unmanned aerial vehicle's (UAV) and autonomous underwater vehicle's (A

Sediment Mercury Profile, Laguna de Pozuelos, Argentine Northwest

The data represent a shallow mercury chronology using sediment core from a playa lake system situated in a high-altitude setting in northwest Argentina. Archive samples were used from sediment core (LP07-1A) that was collected from a location (lat -22.362100, lon -66.003600) in the center of the playa-lake Laguna de Pozuelos in the dry season of 2007, when the water level was 2 to 3 cm. The sample

Sea Otter Aerial Survey Data from Southeast Alaska, 2002-2003

The data package "Sea Otter Aerial Survey Data from Southeast Alaska, 2002-2003" provides raw data for examining abundance and distribution of northern sea otters (Enhydra lutris kenyoni) in Southeast Alaska, based on data collected during a series of population-wide aerial surveys. The USGS aerial sea otter surveys have been completed multiple times using consistent methodology involving aerial-b

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Plant Trait, Percent Cover, and Environmental Data 2014

This data release includes data and metadata on 1) the coverage and composition of plants 2) species specific plant traits 3) sampling locations and 4) environmental data. All sites were within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on Hawaii Island. Plant cover data were obtained from National Park Service Inventory and Monitoring Program. Plant trait data was collected for these plots in 2014. This stud

U.S. Geological Survey Gap Analysis Project (GAP) Analytical Database

The Gap Analysis Project (GAP) Analytical Database represents a synthesis of three core datasets for the conterminous U.S. Specifically 1) the GAP/LANDFIRE National Terrestrial Ecosystems_2011; 2) the Protected Areas Database of the United States (PAD-US) 1.4; and 3) the Species Ranges and Habitat Distribution Models for all terrestrial vertebrates. This database provides a mechanism to effiiently

Geospatial Datasets for the Geohydrology and Water Quality of the Unconsolidated Aquifers in the Enfield Creek Valley, Town of Enfield, Tompkins County, New York

From 2013 to 2018, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Town of Enfield and the Tompkins County Planning Department, studied the unconsolidated aquifers in the Enfield Creek Valley in the town of Enfield, Tompkins County, New York. The objective of this study was to characterize the geohydrology and water quality of the unconsolidated aquifers in the Enfield Creek valley and produce

Detection and non-detection records of Saipan's terrestrial herpetofauna, 2018

There are two datasets included in this entry. The diurnal dataset contains 28 columns of data collected during transects surveys. The nocturnal dataset contains 52 columns. We randomly select 56 sites, each 50 m in length, from 37,968 m of transects spanning the island that were originally created for bird surveys in 1982 through the cooperative efforts of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the

Quaternary faults offshore of California

A comprehensive map of Quaternary faults has been generated for offshore of California. The Quaternary fault map includes mapped geometries and attribute information for offshore fault systems located in California State and Federal waters. The polyline shapefile and matching KML file have been compiled from previously published mapping where relatively dense, high-resolution marine geophysical da

Oahu U.S. Army Facilities Hawaiian Hoary Bat Acoustic Data 2015-2016

Acoustic sampling for occurrence of the endangered Hawaiian hoary bat (Lasiurus cinereus semotus) was conducted at 12 locations on U. S. Army facilities on O'ahu Island, Hawai'i. Bats were confirmed as present at 10 of these locations: Dillingham Military Reservation, Helemano Military Reservation, Kahuku Training Area, Kawailoa Training Area, M'kua Military Reservation, Schofield Barracks East Ra
