The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Data in Support of Development of Regression Equations for the Estimation of Flood Flows at Ungaged Streams in Pennsylvania (ver. 2.0, August 2020)

Roland, M.A., Stuckey, M.H., and Gross, E.L. 2019, Data in Support of Development of Regression Equations for the Estimation of Flood Flows at Ungaged Streams in Pennsylvania (ver. 2.0, August 2020): U.S. Geological Survey data release, https://doi.org/10.5066/P9YHIU6G.

Data on prairie dogs, plants, arthropod biomass, and birds for Thunder Basin, Wyoming in 2017

Data were collected in 2017 by researchers at the USGS, USDA-ARS, and University of Wyoming on the food webs of plants, prairie dogs, arthropods, and birds in the Thunder Basin National Grassland. Data were collected from 87 sites in order to parameterize a structural equation model linking prairie dog impacts to changes in vegetation, arthropods, and birds. Abiotic information such as topographic

Cyanotoxin Concentration and Phytoplankton Community Composition Data for Surface Water Samples Collected at Lake Mattamuskeet National Wildlife Refuge, North Carolina during summer 2015

Data release including concentrations of cyanotoxins and phytoplankton community composition data for water samples collected from the Lake Mattamuskeet National Wildlife Refuge in North Carolina during 2015.

Distributed lakebed temperature data, Haskell Lake, Wisconsin, July 28 - Aug 1, 2016

This data release consists of lakebed temperature data collected at the sediment-water interface at the north end of Haskell Lake, Lac du Flambeau Reservation, Wisconsin. Data were collected using a fiber-optic distributed temperature sensor (DTS) during a 5 day period from July 27 to August 1, 2016. Established procedures were followed to estimate lakebed temperatures from the raw DTS data and ca

Assessment of Field and Laboratory Methods for the Detection and Analyses of Cyanobacteria and Cyanotoxins in Texas Reservoirs

In cooperation with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) utilized various field and laboratory methods to determine the presence and concentration of cyanobacteria, cyanotoxins, and taste-and-odor compounds in Texas water bodies. This data release documents the results from water-quality samples collected from 41 water bodies in Texas during 2016-

Groundwater Quality and Plume Boundaries for Select Contaminants of Concern at Badger Army Ammunition Plant, Wisconsin (2000 - 2018)

This dataset describes concentrations of select contaminants in groundwater, collected at monitoring wells in the vicinity of the Badger Army Ammunition Plant in Sauk County, Wisconsin, between 2000 - 2018. The data were used to assess trends in contaminant concentrations over time, delineate plume boundaries at various time intervals, and assess the overall monitoring network at the Badger Army A

Time Domain Electromagnetic Surveys Collected to Estimate the Extent of Saltwater Intrusion in Nassau and Queens County, New York, October-November 2017

During October-November 2017 twelve time domain electromagnetic (TDEM) surveys were collected in Nassau and Queens County. The data were collected to estimate the extent of saltwater intrusion in support of the Long Island Groundwater Sustainability Project in cooperation with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. In the TDEM method, an electrical current is run through a w

Environmental DNA (eDNA) is an Effective Tool to Track Recolonizing Migratory Fish Following Large-Scale Dam Removal, field data

We collected environmental DNA (eDNA) data from the Elwha River, home to the world?s largest dam removal project, to track the spatial and temporal patterns of species responses following dam removal. In total, we collected data for 11 different fish taxa, sampled at 25 sites ranging across 56 river kilometers in a wilderness river for 4 years following dam removal. We show that eDNA can effective

Tree-Ring Data Collected in 2017 and 2018 From Cottonwood Trees Along the Wind River in Wind River Indian Reservation, Wyoming

This dataset contains tree-ring data from plains cottonwood (Populus deltoides subsp. monilifera), narrowleaf cottonwood (Populus angustifolia) and their hybrids collected from floodplains within the Wind River Indian Reservation, Wyoming in 2017 and 2018. Samples were collected from trees at three sites: the Wind River upstream of Boysen Reservoir (latitude 43.127 N, longitude -108.232 W), the Wi

Mammalian biodiversity data for four bottomland hardwood restoration sites in Northeastern Indiana USA May 2015-August 2016

Mammalian biodiversity data for four bottomland hardwood restoration sites in northeastern Indiana utilizing various sampling methods and level of effort

Chemical analyses and histopathology of organisms and plants collected from breccia pipe uranium mine sites in the Grand Canyon watershed, 2015-2020

These data are comprised of measurements of aluminum, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, arsenic, selenium, molybdenum, silver, cadmium, thallium, lead, bismuth, thorium, uranium, and mercury in invertebrates, vegetation, and small rodents. Gross alpha activity, gross beta activity, and radionuclide activities (isotopic U, isotopic Th) are also presented for vegetation; radioactivities for small

Evapotranspiration Units, Groundwater Discharge Area, and 2007-2008 Summer Mean Vegetation Index for Tule Valley and part of Sevier Valley, Utah

This USGS data release consists of three data sets used as the basis for estimates of groundwater discharge from evapotranspiration in Tule Valley and part of Sevier Valley, UT. The data sets are a mapped groundwater discharge area (GDA), a mean modified soil adjusted vegetation index (MSAVI), and evapotranspiration (ET) units derived from the MSAVI within the GDA. The GDA represents the area with
