Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Fundamental Dataset Rasters for Delaware StreamStats 2020

This dataset was produced in by the Delaware Geological survey in cooperation with the US Geological Survey and Delaware Department of Transportation for the purpose of delineating gage basins and performing hydrologic analysis in the Delaware 2020 StreamStats application. These datasets are raster representations of the fundamental dataset layers necessary for the functionality of StreamStats app

Bayou Dupont Marsh and Ridge Creation (BA-0048): 2016 habitat classification

The Louisiana State Legislature created the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) in order to conserve, restore, create and enhance Louisiana's coastal wetlands. The wetland restoration plans developed pursuant to these acts specifically require an evaluation of the effectiveness of each coastal wetlands restoration project in achieving long-term solutions to arresting

Radiometer data from LZ40 in Lake Okeechobee, Florida, 2021

A four-component (incoming and outgoing shortwave and longwave radiation) radiometer (model CNR1) was installed on a monitoring station (LZ40) constructed by the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) in the approximate center of Lake Okeechobee in Florida, located at 26 degrees 54 minutes 06.254 seconds North, 080 degrees 47 minutes 21.301 seconds West. Specific time-series collected for

Data inputs and outputs for simulations of species distributions in response to future fire size and climate change in the boreal-temperate ecotone of northeastern China

This data release provides inputs needed to run the LANDIS PRO forest landscape model and the LINKAGES 3.0 ecosystem process model for the temperate-boreal ecotone Great Xing'n Mountains of northeastern China, and simulation results that underlie figures and analysis in the accompanying publication. The study compared the impacts of small and large fires on vegetation dynamics. The data release in

Suspended sediment and bedload data, simple linear regression models, loads, elevation data, and FaSTMECH models for Rice Creek, Minnesota, 2010-2019

A series of simple linear regression models were developed for the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) streamgage at Rice Creek below Highway 8 in Mounds View, Minnesota (USGS station number 05288580). The simple linear regression models were calibrated using streamflow data to estimate suspended-sediment (total, fines, and sands) and bedload. Data were collected during water years 2010, 2011, 2014, 201

FiCli: Fish and Climate Change Database (2021 Update)

Inland fishes provide important ecosystem services to communities worldwide and are especially vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Fish respond to climate change in diverse and nuanced ways which creates challenges for practitioners of fish conservation, climate change adaptation, and management. Although climate change is known to affect fish globally, a comprehensive online, public data

Great Blue Heron collection at Poplar Island Complex and Chesapeake Marshlands National Wildlife Refuge Complex

In the fall of 2005, dead and dying great blue herons (Ardea herodias) exhibiting emaciation, lethargy, inability to fly and a hard abdomen (steatitis confirmed at necropsy) were observed at Poplar Island and nearby Coaches Island (Rattner et al. 2006). Birds were hand captured at or near impoundments (cells) and ponds that contained large algal blooms, and because of poor prognosis were euthanize

Electron microprobe data for plagioclase, olivine, pyroxene, and spinel in volcanic rocks from the Matan volcanic center located within the Harrat Rahat volcanic field, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Mineral compositions are reported for Quaternary volcanic rocks of the Matan volcanic center, northern Harrat Rahat, Saudi Arabia. Compositions were measured by wavelength-dispersive methods with the 5-spectrometer JEOL-8900 electron microprobe at the USGS facility in Menlo Park, California; background-corrected X-ray intensities were reduced to oxide weight concentrations with the JEOL proprietar

Coastal wetland area change in the Gulf of Mexico, 1985-2020

These data were used to quantify land area change in a wetlands possible zone of coastal wetlands during a 1985-2020 observation period. The datasets presented in this data release represent annual median estimates of the fractional amount of land, floating aquatic vegetation, submerged aquatic vegetation, and water per Landsat pixel. These data are intended for coarse-scale analysis of wetland ch

Environmental DNA and electrofishing data for American eel in the Mohawk and Hudson River Watersheds (ver. 2.0, January 2023)

The dataset is composed of five tables containing environmental DNA (eDNA) and electrofishing data from American eel (Anguilla rostrata) surveys conducted on parts of the Mohawk River watershed and tributaries to the Hudson River in New York. The dataset includes (a) eDNA data from 36 sites in the Mohawk River watershed and adjacent areas including parts of the Eastern Erie Canal, Mohawk River, an

Geodetic Data for USGS Benchmark Glaciers: Orthophotos, Digital Elevation Models, Glacier Boundaries and Surveyed Positions

Since the late 1950s, the USGS has maintained a long-term glacier mass-balance program at three North American glaciers. Measurements began on South Cascade Glacier, WA in 1958, expanding to Gulkana and Wolverine glaciers, AK in 1966, and later Sperry Glacier, MT in 2005. Additional measurements have been made on Lemon Creek Glacier, AK to compliment data collected by the Juneau Icefield Research

Pine species distribution maps of the Madrean Sky Islands, United States and Mexico

This dataset includes raster species distribution models of five pine species in the Madrean sky islands of Mexico and the United States. Models were trained using a large bi-national field dataset (n = 1,416) of pine species observations. Species distribution models were created for the following pine species: P. arizonica (syn. P. ponderosa var. arizonica); P. discolor (syn. P. cembroides var. b
